Lake City Boys Youth Basketball

The 2026-27 Lake City Youth Basketball season for boys is quickly approaching. The youth basketball program aims to provide opportunities for all boys in grades 3-6 to learn the fundamentals of the game, develop skills, play in competitive situations, and have fun. The youth basketball season runs from November 16 to February 28. Players receive an indoor basketball in 3rd grade and reversible jerseys in grades 3 and 5.

Commitment levels are as follows:

• 3rd grade: Practice on Sundays. Will play in 3-4 weekend tournaments.
• 4th-6th grade In-house:  Practice on Mondays only. Will play in 1-2 weekend tournaments.
• 4th-6th grade Traveling: Practice on Mondays, Thursdays, and some Sundays. Will play in 5-8 weekend tournaments.

Note: “In-house” basketball is less of a commitment and allows kids to participate and learn fundamentals in a less competitive environment. Traveling basketball is a bigger time commitment and a more competitive environment.

Sunday Practice Times: Coaches will let players know the practice times.

Monday/Thursday Practice Times: See below. The first M/TH practice will be on Monday, November 16th. Traveling teams will practice before then on Sundays. The coach will contact parents with this date and time.

Coaches:

• 3rd-grade coach: Brad Huffman and Mitch Oredson, and parent volunteers.
• 4th-grade coach: Will Noll, Jake Suckow and parent volunteers.
• 5th-grade coach: Lee Meldrim, Kyle Johnson and parent volunteers.
• 6th-grade coach: Candace Dudley and parent volunteers.
